Helios Odyssey Now Supports P2P Download Clients
Hong Kong – Wednesday, March 12 - Helios Labs, a leading provider of networked entertainment devices for the digital home, released today new software that enables the Helios Odyssey media hub to be compatible with uPnP enabled devices as well as supporting popular P2P (peer-to-peer) download protocols such as BitTorrent and ED2K. This marks another significant milestone for Helios Labs towards a PC-less media center solution that directly connects the Internet with the HDTV in the living room.
The Helios Odyssey, a networking media hub capable of streaming content to multiple DMAs (network media adapter), is designed to be the centerpiece for the future of digital media entertainment. The newly released software allows you to install a P2P download client directly on the Odyssey so that you can schedule download tasks via a web browser and have access to even more content on the Internet, all without the worry of power consumption or noise pollution of a PC. Combined with up to1TB storage capacity, the Odyssey now enables you to store, manage, access and keep track of all of your photos, music, downloaded clips, TV shows, movies and other random files effortlessly.
Jean Chen, CEO of Helios Labs comments: “With the Internet becoming more about media and entertainment, connecting the web directly to the living room where your best media settings and sound systems are is an irrefutable step for us. After all, the living room is the most comfortable and preferred platform for enjoying entertainment at home.”
The Helios Odyssey media hub is also designed to be on 24/7. With a fan-less, passive cooling design and a slick full aluminum enclosure, it is the quietest and coolest media hub for your home. The Odyssey also features an intuitive GUI design customized for the Helios X-line media players allowing seamless streaming via LAN or wireless in the house. “With Helios Odyssey and the X-line media players, you can now create your own library of digital content and enjoy it all from the comfort of your living room.” states Ms. Chen.
